2. Information We Collect
2a. Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Password (hashed, never stored in plain text)
- First and last name
- Phone number (optional)
- Date of birth
- Profile photo
2b. Health & Fitness Data
With your explicit permission, we collect health data from Apple HealthKit (iOS) and Health Connect (Android):
- Daily step count
- Active calories burned
- Sleep duration and quality
- Exercise/active minutes
- Heart rate (resting and active)
We have read-only access — we never write to your health data.

- Workout logs (exercises, sets, reps, weights)
- Progress photos
- Body measurements
- Personal records
- Readiness assessments

- Meal photos and logs
- Calorie estimates
- Supplement schedules and logs
2e. Sensitive Personal Data (Optional)
With your explicit consent, we may collect:
- Menstrual cycle data (phase, predictions, logs)
- Injury data (type, location, severity, pain levels, recovery status)
- Circadian rhythm assessment (sleep preferences, work schedule)

2h. Camera & Photos
Camera access is used for: profile photos, progress photos, meal photos, and chat images. Photos are uploaded to secure cloud storage (Supabase). The camera is never accessed without explicit user action.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain the service
- Enable coach-athlete communication and program delivery
- Display health and progress data to you and your assigned coach
- Send push notifications (workout reminders, messages, achievements)
- Improve the service and fix bugs
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Data Sharing
With your coach: Your assigned coach can see your workout data, progress, health metrics, check-in responses, and (with your explicit consent) menstrual cycle and injury data.
Service providers: Supabase (database & auth), Firebase (push notifications), cloud storage.
Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
We do NOT sell your personal data. We do NOT share data with advertisers.
5. Data Storage & Security
- Data stored on Supabase (cloud infrastructure)
- Encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
- Authentication via secure JWT tokens
- Passwords hashed, never stored in plain text
- Local data encrypted via Flutter Secure Storage
6. Data Retention
- Account data retained while your account is active
- Upon account deletion, data is permanently removed within 30 days
- Server logs retained for up to 90 days
- Anonymized/aggregated data may be retained indefinitely
7. Your Rights
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for optional data (menstrual cycle, health sync)
- Export your data (upon request to support@zanosa.life)
- Opt out of push notifications via device settings
8. Children's Privacy
Zanosa is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@zanosa.life.
9. Third-Party Services
- Apple HealthKit / Google Health Connect (health data, governed by their respective privacy policies)
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications)
- Supabase (authentication, database, storage)
- Google Fonts (typography loading)
10. International Data Transfers
Data may be processed in the United States. By using the app, you consent to this transfer.
11. Changes to This Policy
We will notify users of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of Zanosa after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
